Nan Logan
Nan Logan lives in
Woods Hole where she
finds many of the
seashore and
woodland bits she
uses in the
Gatherings series to
combine with symbols
and natural papers
from around the
world. A single
natural element --
shell, feather,
bark, seed casing,
seaweed -- is
attached often with
fine threads strung
with turquoise,
Massai or antique
Turkish beads.
Arabic, Hebrew,
Chinese, or Japanese
calligraphic symbols
for peace, honor,
love, courage, life
or double happiness
imprinted on hand-
made paper from
Asia, Africa, North
and South America.
